Welcome to the website for the Goonhilly Greenpower Project, this site aims to provide all the latest information on project progress, news and reports from the Goonhilly Greenpower Group, future activities, facts and data and the real impact that Goonhilly is making in delivering carbon-free electricity for local consumers.
It is also a growing resource for local organisations and visitors to the area, including sections for students, children and tourists as well as for the community as a whole. Information on the rich natural history and social history of the Goonhilly Downs and surrounding area is also developing and both questions and contributions are welcomed via info@goonhillygreenpower.co.uk
Festive Fun at Goonhilly Wind Farm Open Day
Santa took a break from Christmas preparations to officially open the newly repowered Goonhilly Wind Farm and meet scores of local children at a Christmas themed family open-day on Saturday 4 December 2010. Around 250 people braved arctic conditions to attend the event, held in a traditionally decorated marquee, at Goonhilly Downs, on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula.
